Many Excel data crunchers mourned the loss of easy access to PowerPivot as Excel 2013 was released. However, one of its most powerful features, the ability to analyze multiple related datasets, is now included in most versions of Excel as part of the data model. A data model lets you take two different datasets joined by at least one common element and analyze them in pivot tables and pivot charts. Even if you never used PowerPivot, but have employed various other complex, convoluted, and, ultimately unwieldy methods, you'll appreciate the simple elegance of this new feature. Certified Microsoft Excel expert, Melissa Esquibel, will take you through the fundamentals of this toolset, then show how to leverage it with some of Excel's newest BI (Business Intelligence) tools.
