New rule is in line with International Standards based on science, risk and desired outcomes for improvement. SFCR expands focus on imported foods, improves government oversight, while increasing penalties for non-compliance. Also new is the CFIA portal, MyCFIA, where all regulatory compliance transactions will be handled going forward.
