In exchange for that contingent fee the public adjuster meets with the insurance company’s adjuster, works with the insurer’s adjuster to obtain an agreed scope of loss, works with the insurance company’s adjuster and the insureds to provide the proof necessary to prove the amount of loss, and assists the policyholder in preparing a sworn proof of loss.

If the public adjuster and the insurance company adjuster the public adjuster, on behalf of the insured, instigates an appraisal/arbitration to determine the amount of loss. When all else fails the public adjuster works with counsel for the policyholder in preparing and litigating the differences.
