As of January 1, 2015, large employers (employers with 50 or more full time employees or equivalents) must be in compliance with the Employer Shared Responsibility Provision (ESRP) under the ACA. Under the ESRP, employers are required to offer affordable health coverage for employees and their dependents that provide minimum value. In addition to this requirement, employers are not required to report certain information to the IRS. If employers are not compliant with this new reporting requirement, they will be penalized.

Objectives of the Presentation
There is certain data that must be tracked on a monthly basis by large employers. Now this information has to be reported to the IRS on an annual basis. Employers need to know what information needs to be tracked and reported and how often. Employers will have to file new tax forms for the 2016 tax filing period. Employers also need to know what information is required to complete the tax forms and how to complete and submit the forms. There is now ACA compliance software available to help employers track this information and help in preparing the required tax forms for 2016. Penalties will be assessed for not being compliant with the new reporting requirements.
